IMPORTANT NOTICE: With the start of 2012 I am very sorry to announce that we are closing.
Due to financial reasons I am no longer in a position to be able to rescue and guarantee that I can provide the best possible care for the pigs that come in. With this in mine it’s certainly not appropriate to continue.
Over the last 18 months we have rescued and rehomed 150+ pigs and had such a life changing experience.
I can’t see us going away from rescuing forever but in the current climate I need to work and make money, rescuing properly costs alot of money and with a young family I just don’t have the time to fundraise – my kids need me too.
We still have a few pigs in who will be rehomed and every special needs pig here will stay here. We have acquired lots of lifers over the last 18 months and will see out their care – they are part of our family.
Thank you to everyone for your support over the last 18 months. I highly recommend helping animals wherever you can – it really does make a difference and animals need us to be the voice that sadly they cant be.
Thank you
Cardiff Guinea Pig rescue was set up in July 2010 to answer the demand to find good, caring and proactive homes for the growing number of Guinea Pigs being given away in the South Wales area.
We try to update our website often but it’s worth ringing even if there isn’t what you are looking for on the site. We are in contact with other rescues too so may be able to find the perfect pigs for you anyway so email or ring anyway.
All of the guinea pigs that come here will have stayed here for a period of quarantine and / or treatment and will only be released for rehoming once they are well. Check both our available for re-homing & available soon sections.
We do take on guinea pigs that sadly will not be available for re-homing for one reason or another, could be a disability or ongoing illness, these are available to sponsor and your help in sponsoring them for a small yearly fee helps greatly. Check our sponsor pigs page for details of all pigs currently available to be sponsored. We rely on donations to be able to keep treating and rescuing so please consider a donation.
